CCA Signs Reciprocity Agreement with the
U.K.’s Association of Consulting Actuaries

On April 24, 2008, CCA President Kenneth F. Hohman and ACA President Ian A. Farr signed a reciprocity agreement between the two organizations. Under the agreement, the CCA and ACA extend benefits to each other’s members regarding continuing education opportunities and website access.

The agreement follows last year’s exchange of sessions between the ACA’s meeting in London and the CCA’s Annual Meeting in San Antonio. Presenters from the ACA offered Annual Meeting sessions on topics including creative plan designs, plan termination or “wind-up;” and the dual role of the actuary. The sessions were well attended and received.

While there are differences between the U.K. and U.S. pension systems, the overall environments are very similar and our British counterparts have already addressed some of the issues confronting actuaries in the States. We hope that CCA members take the opportunity to explore the ACA and enjoy this benefit.
